Secret Teatime
Tea tools Introduction
Helen is the owner of Secret Teatime, a clay maker space in Scarborough where people play with clay and sip tea. She specializes in making handmade tea wares for Chinese and Japanese teas.
She started in pottery because of her love with tea. Starting with learning Chado (the Japanese Way of Tea) while living in Japan, she continued to study in Canada and expanded to Chinese and Taiwanese teas. This love got her to learn about the different ceramic tea making tools and vessels.
In this presentation, Helen will do a show-and-tell with a physical collection of tea making tools (both made by her and her collection from Japan) where guests can have a better understanding about the things we collaborate with daily to make Japanese tea.
