This year’s talk, “Types of Kimono and Tea Ceremony,” will explore the beautiful relationship between kimono and the traditional Japanese tea ceremony.

Hiroko will introduce different types of kimono, including hōmongi, komon, and iromuji, as well as the different roles of nagoya obi and fukuro obi. She will explain how to coordinate kimono and obi elegantly, and what is appropriate to wear for tea lessons, casual tea gatherings, and formal tea ceremonies.
